Picaresque

Picaresque is the adjective to describe writings about a common or low character who survives the pitfalls of life through luck or good fortune. My travels, interests, my animals, my photographs, my wonderful friends and family are featured.

(Note: Blogs read from bottom to top; scroll down for beginnings, scroll up for most current.) After 30 years in public administration and four degrees, as well as numerous workshops with luminaries in Education and Public Policy, life in a slower lane became a goal. Most recently I have done policy writing and consulting for the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes. Mostly, I am just coasting slowly and gently downhill these days-seeking joy where I can find it before the glorious ride ends.

A Social Moth

Cold (relatively) and windy here in South Florida. It became a very social day. I tried out JoJo's Cafe for breakfast- a beanery of a familiar sort. So-so, Jo-Jo. As we arrived home Greg and Lew and their dogs met us and joined us for awhile. Nice visit. Buster settled down and was a gentleman though he kept flashing me "looks." They are smart people. Well informed. I am invited to the Pops Concert in Boca at Florida Atlantic University on Monday. "Pops" has season tickets and since they are on a cruise....

I had some hardy Internet users.
Leila, lovely Leila, of last season arrived at my site. I was sure her trailer was in the park but the man I saw at it was unknown to me- so thought I was mistaken. She had him and her daughter in tow. A Finlander festivity may come together Friday. I am invited to that. It would be fun to see those folks again.

They were leaving and Dmitri and his wife and grandkids arrived. (see Mahendrin's party for Dmitri). I went to their site to photograph the family for the grandkids "taste of camping."

Spent some time adjusting and tightening awning tie-downs in the face of the wind. I rescued Harold and Julia's laundry before it blew across the pasture. Fixed Nathan's (Kosher) hot dogs, sauerkraut and baked potatoes for dinner. We'll sleep under layer two of the bedding again tonight although the cube heaters are keeping up just fine. We have three more layers in reserve. If I needed more evidence that cold makes me hurt, I got it today. Got chilled this afternoon and feet and hands were hurtin' units.
Orange Bowl tonight.
