Picaresque

Picaresque is the adjective to describe writings about a common or low character who survives the pitfalls of life through luck or good fortune. My travels, interests, my animals, my photographs, my wonderful friends and family are featured.

(Note: Blogs read from bottom to top; scroll down for beginnings, scroll up for most current.) After 30 years in public administration and four degrees, as well as numerous workshops with luminaries in Education and Public Policy, life in a slower lane became a goal. Most recently I have done policy writing and consulting for the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes. Mostly, I am just coasting slowly and gently downhill these days-seeking joy where I can find it before the glorious ride ends.

Dis n' Dat

Just living today. Little bit of housework, little bit of playing with the dogs. Took healthy doses of minerals and they seem to be helping. When you take a diuretic I think you can get low without knowing. I started to get new backyard neighbors (from Quebec) in a big coach. I could tell they were going to be trouble-they hit the ground mad. They moved to another site and I got some better ones (from Quebec) in a tiny old camper. Their camper was so dirty I wanted to wash it. Luckily he decided to do that very thing and my stuff was handy so we did it. Looks pretty good. His wife was shell-shocked-no English, strange setting. She was pissy and he was sweet with her. They are newbies. He was a vo-tech teacher for 32 years and has little English but a great attitude and positive outlook. I think they will be fun. They have a toy poodle. Buster made friends. Tim was present when they pulled in and the meet and greet gave me a graceful way to cut short the visit with him. I needed a Tim break. A little too much drinking and cooking involved for a steady diet. Publix deli cooked tonight. I needed dog food and the deli was handy.

Watching PBS tonight. I needed this laidback day.
