Picaresque

Picaresque is the adjective to describe writings about a common or low character who survives the pitfalls of life through luck or good fortune. My travels, interests, my animals, my photographs, my wonderful friends and family are featured.

(Note: Blogs read from bottom to top; scroll down for beginnings, scroll up for most current.) After 30 years in public administration and four degrees, as well as numerous workshops with luminaries in Education and Public Policy, life in a slower lane became a goal. Most recently I have done policy writing and consulting for the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes. Mostly, I am just coasting slowly and gently downhill these days-seeking joy where I can find it before the glorious ride ends.

Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Yesterday, Christmas Day, was spent arranging a replacement for Jason's Christmas present which would boot then die. Amazon thought if it had that much life it was not dead on arrival. Tech Support at Acer said it was DOA and a "well-placed call" to Amazon would be in order.
Problem solved. A replacement will be sent when it arrives. I did not even have to launch into my"Did my credit card work? Your product did not"...spiel. Otherwise, I turned on the all Christmas music FM station and held court in the screenhouse dispensing a few beers and good will to men, took a nap, ate a little soup and reflected on my good fortune. Gratitude. I enjoyed my Christmas lights. I enjoyed the day.

Subtle hints have been flying: the park employees saying things like" Did you get your brandy soaked fruitcake from the Rosenbergs?" in earshot of the patrons. So I did my Boxing Day shopping today. Dispensing will take a few shifts.

Lori's mom is in town for a Christmas visit for a few days. I told her I would be scarce, short visit deserves full attention.

Tim called: He caught a 40 pound Wahoo. Wahoo steaks are on their way. We will see who gathers to enjoy. I need to search the Internet for Wahoo recipes.
